Stand-Out Features
This isn’t just another red bearded dragon. Having personally handled and evaluated this specific animal, I can tell you the “Fox” line lives up to its reputation. The build quality—meaning the animal’s structure, alertness, and overall health—matches or even exceeds what you’d expect from this breeder at this price point. We’ve found the coloration to be particularly vibrant, with a deep, consistent red that starts to show even in juveniles. One of the most telling signs for us is the low return rate; customers generally get exactly what they expect when they order this dragon, which speaks volumes about its condition upon arrival.
It’s also become one of our most-reordered items. We regularly have customers who buy one, are thrilled with it, and come back specifically for a second one. That kind of repeat business is the best feedback we can get. In our handling, she’s shown excellent appetite and a calm, curious demeanor that makes her a great candidate for a display animal or a hands-on pet.

❌ Cons:
- Price: At $299.99, she’s an investment compared to pet store dragons.

- Juvenile Size: You are getting a young animal that will require proper growth and care to reach full potential.
Best For
Buy if: You’re looking for a bearded dragon with standout red coloration from a known genetic line, and you value health and temperament as much as appearance. This is a great step-up animal for someone who has kept a standard dragon and wants more, or for a serious first-timer who wants to start with a quality animal.
Skip if: You are on a very tight budget for the animal itself (remember, enclosure and setup costs are separate), or if you are specifically seeking a morph trait like Leatherback, Silkback, or Zero for a breeding project.
Your Questions Answered
How red will this dragon actually get?
The “Fox” line is bred for intense, saturated red color. As a juvenile, she already shows strong red pigmentation. With proper UVB lighting, diet, and care, this color should deepen and become even more vibrant as she matures into an adult. We’ve seen adults from this line, and the color holds very well.
Is she healthy and eating well?
Yes. Every animal we ship has been personally checked by our staff. This specific dragon has been in our care and has shown a strong, consistent feeding response. Our 14-day live arrival guarantee is our commitment to her health. The low return rate we’ve experienced with this product is a strong indicator of overall health and customer satisfaction.
What do you feed her?
In our facility, she is offered a staple of small dubia roaches and fresh, chopped collard greens/mustard greens daily. She readily accepts both. We recommend a varied diet of appropriate-sized insects (dubia, discoid, BSFL) and leafy greens for optimal health.
How is she shipped?
She is shipped via overnight courier in a professionally packed, insulated box with a heat or cold pack as needed for the weather. Shipments are scheduled for Monday-Wednesday to avoid weekend delays. You will receive tracking information as soon as she ships.
Can I pair her with another dragon?
Bearded dragons are solitary animals and should be housed separately. Cohabitation often leads to stress, competition for resources, and injury. We do not recommend housing them together.
Where can I buy “Fox” Red Bearded Dragons online?
You’re looking at one of the primary sources. Morphdirect, based in Boise, ID, has carried this line since early 2024. We work directly with the breeder to source these animals. Given that customers come back for a second one, we must be doing something right.
What setup do you recommend?
A minimum of a 4x2x2 foot enclosure for an adult, a high-output T5 HO UVB light spanning 1/2 to 2/3 the enclosure length, a basking spot of 100-110°F, a cool side around 80°F, and proper substrate (like slate tile or a suitable loose substrate). Start with a 40-gallon breeder for a juvenile with plans to upgrade.
