Rankin’s dragons (Pogona henrylawsoni), also known as Lawson’s bearded dragons or dwarf bearded dragons, are the smaller cousins of the popular central bearded dragon. Maxing out at just 10-12 inches, Rankin’s dragons offer all the personality and friendliness of a bearded dragon in a more compact package, making them perfect for keepers with limited space.

Rankin’s dragons are social, handleable, and make excellent pets. They require a smaller enclosure than central bearded dragons (30-40 gallons is sufficient) and have similar dietary needs — a mix of insects and vegetables with proper UVB lighting and supplementation.
