Stand-Out Features
This isn’t just another pastel. The Enchi and Ivory genes work together to create something special. The Enchi cleans up the pattern, giving you those crisp, reduced alien heads, while the Ivory gene washes the background into a stunning, high-contrast canvas. The Pastel gene intensifies the yellows and brightens everything up. In our hands, the animals we’ve shipped have shown exceptional color clarity right out of the box. It’s a combination that’s become a regular reorder item for us because the build quality—the animal’s overall health, color saturation, and conformation—consistently matches or exceeds what you’d hope for at this price point from reputable breeders.
We’ve found their temperament to be exactly what a Ball Python should be: manageable, curious, and not overly head-shy. One story that stuck with me was a customer who drove three hours from McCall to pick one up instead of waiting for shipping. When you see that kind of commitment, it tells you the animal in the photo is the animal people are getting.

Strengths and Weaknesses
✅ Pros:
- Consistent Quality: Based on feedback from 45 buyers averaging 4.5 out of 5 stars, this morph delivers on its looks and health.
- Triple-Threat Genetics: You’re getting three proven, co-dominant genes in one animal. The Super Pastel (two pastel alleles) ensures maximum color impact.
- Excellent Breeding Stock: The Ivory and Enchi genes are highly sought-after for combo projects. This animal is a stepping stone to some incredible offspring.
- Manageable Size: At the juvenile stage, around the 6.5 oz we measured, they’re a great size for new and experienced keepers to handle confidently.
- Reliable Feeders: In our care before shipping, they’ve been consistently strong feeders on F/T, which is a huge plus for settling into a new home.
❌ Cons:
- Price Point: At $399.99, it’s an investment compared to a normal or single-gene pastel. You’re paying for the specific genetic combination.
- Color Variation: As with all multi-gene animals, the exact shade of ivory and the amount of pattern reduction can vary from animal to animal. The photo represents the morph well, but individuals differ.
- Not a “Blue-Eyed Leucistic” Project Animal: While Enchi is used in some BEL projects, the Ivory gene is not part of the standard Mojave/Lesser/Butter/etc. complex for creating white snakes.
Best For
Buy if: You want a visually striking Ball Python that’s more interesting than a basic morph but isn’t a four-figure investment. You’re interested in the Enchi or Ivory gene complexes for future breeding. You appreciate high contrast and clean patterns. You value a proven, well-reviewed animal from a source that has hands-on experience with it.
Skip if: Your budget is strictly under $250. You are specifically looking for a snake to create Blue-Eyed Leucistics (look for Mojave, Lesser, Butter, etc.). You prefer very dark or very high-yellow Ball Pythons without the ivory influence.
Your Questions Answered
How big will this Ball Python get?
As adults, Ball Pythons typically reach 3 to 5 feet in length, with females generally being larger and heavier than males. This juvenile will need appropriately sized enclosures as it grows, starting with a 10-20 gallon and eventually moving to a 40+ gallon enclosure or equivalent tub for an adult.
What do you feed it?
This animal is established on frozen/thawed rodents. As a juvenile around 6.5 oz, it should be eating fuzzy or small hopper mice, or rat pups of appropriate size (no wider than the snake’s widest part). We recommend continuing with F/T for safety and convenience.
Is the color in the photo accurate?
The photo is a professional representation of the morph. Individual animals will vary in the exact shade of ivory and the boldness of the pattern. Based on our customer feedback, buyers are consistently pleased with how their animals match the expected appearance of this triple-gene combo.
Can I breed this snake?
Absolutely. The Pastel Enchi Ivory is fantastic breeding stock. Pairing it with another Ivory can produce Ivory offspring. Pairing it with Enchi or other morphs can create stunning multi-gene animals. Remember, it carries two copies of the Pastel gene (Super Pastel), so all offspring will at least be Pastels.
How is it shipped?
We ship via FedEx Priority Overnight, professionally packaged with heat or cold packs as needed for safe arrival. Animals are shipped for Monday-Wednesday arrival to avoid weekend delays. You will receive tracking information as soon as the shipment is processed.
Where can I buy Pastel Enchi Ivory online?
You’re looking at it. Morphdirect in Boise, ID, has carried this specific morph since late 2024. We’ve shipped well over a hundred of them, and it remains a popular item in our collection because of its consistent quality and customer satisfaction.
What’s the temperament like?
In our handling, they exhibit classic Ball Python behavior—generally docile and curious. They may ball up when nervous, as their name suggests. With regular, gentle handling, they typically become quite manageable and are not known for being defensive.
