Description

The Tangerine Aberrant African Fat Tail Gecko is a selectively bred, high-color morph of the popular Hemitheconyx caudicinctus. This gecko is for the keeper looking for a visually striking, handleable, and hardy terrestrial lizard. Its consistent, vibrant tangerine patterning over a clean background makes it a standout display animal. Since arriving on our shelves in spring 2025, customer feedback has been excellent, with a very low return rate indicating buyers are consistently satisfied with the animal they receive.

Stand-Out Features

  • Vibrant Tangerine Aberrant Patterning: Displays rich orange-to-tangerine coloration in a broken, non-symmetrical “aberrant” pattern, ensuring each animal is unique.
  • Proven Hardy Captive-Bred Lineage: Bred from established, healthy bloodlines known for robust health and reliable feeding responses on insects like crickets and mealworms.
  • Excellent Temperament: Known for a typically docile and calm disposition, making them suitable for careful handling once acclimated.
  • Ideal for a Naturalistic Setup: A terrestrial species that thrives in a moderately humid, well-designed 20-gallon or larger enclosure with secure hides and a moist hide for shedding.
  • Low-Maintenance Care: Requires straightforward husbandry: a thermal gradient, moderate humidity, and a simple insect-based diet supplemented with calcium and vitamins.
