Your Questions Answered
What does “100% het. Amel ph Patternless” mean?
This gecko is visually a Striped morph but carries one copy (heterozygous) of the recessive gene for Amelanism and is also “possible heterozygous” (ph) for the recessive Patternless gene. She is guaranteed to pass one of these genes to 50% of her offspring. Breeding her to a male expressing either trait can produce visual Amel, Patternless, or double-morph babies.
Is she ready to breed this season?
Yes. As an adult female weighing 7.1 oz, she is of prime breeding size and age. We recommend a short acclimation period in her new enclosure and proper nutritional conditioning prior to introduction with a male for optimal health and clutch results.
