- Distinctive White Lip Markings: The namesake white supralabial scales provide bold contrast against its typically green body, a key identifier for the luteogularis subspecies.
- Arboreal Specialist: A powerful climber requiring a tall, well-planted enclosure with sturdy branches and vertical space to exhibit natural perching and hunting behaviors.

Your Questions Answered
What size enclosure does this anole need?
A minimum enclosure for an adult is 24″L x 24″W x 48″H. Height is critical. They are territorial, so house singly. The setup should be heavily planted with live or artificial foliage for security and humidity retention, with a basking area reaching 85-90°F and a gradient down to 75°F.
Is this a handleable pet?
This is primarily a display animal. Knight Anoles can be defensive and are easily stressed by frequent handling. They are best observed. With slow, patient acclimation, some may tolerate brief, supportive handling, but this is not guaranteed and should not be the primary goal.
How do you sex them?
Adult males are significantly larger and bulkier than females and possess a more pronounced, extensible dewlap (throat fan). The male’s dewlap is typically pinkish or reddish. Females are smaller and have a much smaller, less frequently displayed dewlap.
