What does “Hypo Translucent” mean?
“Hypo” (Hypomelanistic) means reduced black pigment, leading to cleaner, brighter colors. “Translucent” refers to semi-transparent scales, often giving a slight bluish tint on hatchlings and typically resulting in dark, solid-colored eyes that retain the trait into adulthood.
What setup do you recommend?
A 40-gallon breeder tank is the minimum for an adult, but a 4’x2’x2′ enclosure is ideal. Provide a temperature gradient of 75-80°F on the cool side and a basking spot of 100-110°F, along with a high-output UVB tube light covering 2/3 of the enclosure.
