Your Questions Answered
What size enclosure is recommended?
A 40-gallon breeder or equivalent (36″L x 18″W) is suitable for an adult. Provide multiple hides, a water bowl for soaking, and branches for climbing. Maintain a thermal gradient with a warm side around 85°F and an ambient temperature in the mid-70s°F.
Is this species handleable?
With regular, gentle interaction, most specimens become quite tractable. They are not prone to defensive biting but, like all snakes, should be handled with respect and confidence. Allow new arrivals a full week to settle in without handling.
Why do customers often buy a second one?
Their striking iridescence, active display behavior, and overall hardiness make them a rewarding species to keep. Many experienced hobbyists choose to keep a pair or add another due to their engaging presence in a naturalistic vivarium setup.
