Does this require any permanent modification to my slide?
No. It installs using the existing rear sight dovetail and a single set screw. The installation is reversible, allowing you to return to the factory rear sight if desired.
Will the finish wear off from holster use?
The anodized finish is highly resistant to abrasion. While any finish can show wear over extreme use, the textured pattern helps conceal minor holster marks better than a flat, glossy finish.
Is this considered a “rear sight”?
No. This is a decorative and protective cover plate only. It does not provide any sighting function. You must use suppressor-height sights or a red dot optic to maintain a sight picture over this plate.
