Description
The Blue Bar Citrus Bearded Dragon is a high-color morph bred for exceptional pattern clarity and vibrant orange-yellow pigmentation. It’s for the keeper seeking a visually striking dragon with proven genetics, not just a pet. Since adding it to our catalog in Q1 2025, this line has shown consistent quality and reliable health from the breeder.
Stand-Out Features
- Defined Blue Barring: The namesake lateral bars are a crisp, slate blue in juveniles, developing into a clean, contrasting pattern against the citrus background as they mature.
- High-Expression Citrus: Displays intense yellow-to-orange base coloration with minimal brown or grey wash, especially along the dorsal ridge and head.
- Proven Bloodline: Sourced from a breeder with a multi-generation project focused on color saturation and predictable offspring traits.
- Excellent Structure: Broad head, full beard, and straight tail indicate good health and adherence to the classic Pogona vitticeps form.
- Consistent Feeders: Our experience shows these dragons transition to captive diets readily, accepting a variety of gut-loaded insects and greens.

Your Questions Answered
How blue will the bars stay as it ages?
The blue is most vivid in juveniles. As the dragon matures, the bars typically darken to a charcoal or grey but maintain strong contrast against the citrus background. True blue retention into adulthood is rare in this morph.
Is the packaging secure for live animal shipment?
Yes. The animal is secured in a breathable, insulated container with heat/cold packs as needed. We must note the breeder’s outer box is somewhat flimsy, but our warehouse adds reinforcement and proper labeling to ensure safe transit. The animal inside arrives in perfect condition.
What size enclosure is needed?
A 40-gallon breeder tank is the minimum for a juvenile. Plan to upgrade to an enclosure at least 4’x2’x2′ (120 gallons) for a healthy adult. Proper UVB lighting and a basking spot of 100-110°F are non-negotiable for long-term health.
