Your Questions Answered

What is the genetic makeup of a Lavender Albino?

This snake is a double recessive morph. It carries two copies of the lavender gene and two copies of the albino (T-) gene. Both genes must be inherited from both parents to visually express, making this a true visual Lavender Albino.

How does its care differ from a normal Ball Python?

Care is identical to any other Ball Python morph. Provide a secure enclosure with a thermal gradient (88-92°F warm side, 78-80°F cool side), humidity of 50-60% (with a spike during shed), and appropriate hides. No special lighting is required due to the albinism.

Is this snake suitable for a beginner?

While its care is standard, the investment and specific genetics make it better suited for a keeper with some experience who understands Ball Python husbandry and the long-term commitment. Beginners should master basics with a more common morph first.
