Your Questions Answered

Does the Spider gene affect the snake’s health or behavior?

The Spider morph gene in Ball Pythons is associated with a neurological condition known as the “wobble.” This can manifest as a slight head tremor or corkscrewing motion, particularly when the animal is excited or feeding. It does not cause pain or reduce lifespan, but it is a consideration for keepers. The wobble’s severity varies between individuals.

What setup do you recommend for this baby?

Start with a 10-20 gallon enclosure with a secure lid. Provide a hot side of 88-92°F and a cool side of 78-80°F, a humid hide with sphagnum moss, and two snug hides (one on each end). Use aspen or coconut husk substrate. Ensure fresh water is always available.

How will this morph look as an adult?

The bright yellow Banana coloration will intensify and potentially develop light freckling. The Spider webbing pattern will remain, though the contrast may soften slightly as the snake matures. This combination typically ages into a clean, yellow snake with a reduced, elegant pattern.
