Your Questions Answered

How is the temperament for handling?

African Fat Tail Geckos are renowned for their calm disposition. This morph is no exception. They are typically more relaxed and less skittish than Leopard Geckos, making them an excellent choice for regular, gentle handling.

What setup does this gecko need?

A 20-gallon long terrarium is ideal for an adult. They require a warm side around 88-90°F, a cool side in the 70s, and moderate humidity (50-60%) maintained with a moist hide. Provide a substrate like coconut fiber or reptile carpet, along with multiple hides.

Is this a good beginner gecko?

Yes. Their hardiness, simple insect diet, and forgiving nature regarding humidity and temperature ranges make them a strong candidate for a first-time gecko keeper, as well as a valuable addition for an experienced collector.
