Your Questions Answered
How is the temperament for handling?
This line exhibits the typical Honduran Milksnake disposition. They are generally calm and tolerate regular, gentle handling well once settled. As with most colubrids, they can be initially defensive as juveniles but mature into confident, manageable snakes.
Will the colors change as it grows?
Yes, the tangerine coloration typically deepens and becomes more vibrant with each shed. The black bands remain solid, and the white bands stay clean, resulting in a higher-contrast, more visually striking adult snake.
What is the feeding schedule for this size?
At this young adult stage and weight (5.2 oz), a diet of one appropriately sized frozen/thawed fuzzy or small adult mouse every 7-10 days is sufficient. We find many of these are purchased on weekends by keepers returning from rodent supply runs.
