Stand-Out Features

  • Distinctive Pattern: The clean, crisp stripes run the length of the body, a clear genetic expression on the snow (anerythristic + amelanistic) base.
  • Proven Starter Reptile: Corn snakes are renowned for their manageable size, docile temperament, and straightforward care requirements.
  • Captive-Bred & Feeding: This baby is established on frozen/thawed pinky mice, eliminating the challenges of wild-caught specimens.
  • Visual Appeal: The stark white, gray, and yellow stripes against the light background create a standout display animal.
  • Growth Potential: A healthy start leads to a robust adult, typically reaching 4 to 5.5 feet, with the striped pattern remaining prominent.

Your Questions Answered

Is this snake a good choice for a beginner?

Yes. Corn snakes are widely considered one of the best beginner snake species due to their size, hardiness, and generally calm disposition. This captive-bred baby is already feeding reliably, which is the most critical factor for a new keeper’s success.

How do I set up its enclosure?

A 10-gallon tank is suitable initially. Provide a secure lid, a hide box on both the warm and cool ends, an under-tank heat pad regulated by a thermostat, a shallow water dish, and substrate like aspen shavings. The warm side should be 85°F, the cool side around 75°F.

Will the stripe pattern change as it grows?

The striped pattern is genetic and will remain for life. The background colors may intensify slightly, and some yellow pigmentation (from the amelanistic gene) often develops along the sides as the snake matures, enhancing the contrast.
