Description

The Pastel Enchi Clown Ball Python is a triple-gene morph combining Pastel’s brightness, Enchi’s rich coloration, and the Clown’s iconic dorsal stripe and head pattern. This is a proven, high-contrast animal for breeders aiming to produce complex combos or keepers wanting a standout pet. We’ve stocked this line since spring 2025, and it’s a consistent favorite with repeat customers.

Stand-Out Features

  • Triple-Gene Visual Impact: The Pastel and Enchi genes work together to create a clean, bright yellow base color, while the Clown gene adds the defining, unbroken dorsal stripe and reduced pattern.
  • Proven Genetic Power: This is a visual triple recessive (Clown) and co-dominant (Pastel, Enchi) animal, capable of passing all three genes to its offspring for powerful breeding projects.
  • Excellent Feeding Response: Like most in this line, this animal has a strong, consistent feeding response on frozen-thawed rodents, making husbandry straightforward.
  • Manageable Adult Size: As a Ball Python, it reaches a manageable 3-5 feet, suitable for a variety of enclosure sizes and handling sessions.
  • Stable Temperament: Exhibits the typical Ball Python calmness. The Clown gene has no link to neurological issues, ensuring a predictable, handleable snake.

Your Questions Answered

What size enclosure does this juvenile need now?

A 10-20 gallon enclosure or a 6-12 quart tub is ideal. Provide a snug hide, a water bowl, and proper heat gradient (88-92°F hot spot, 78-80°F ambient). They will graduate to a permanent adult enclosure (40+ gallons) in 2-3 years.

How does the Clown gene affect breeding?

The Clown gene is recessive. Breeding this visual Clown to a normal Ball Python will produce 100% heterozygous (Clown gene carriers) offspring. Breeding it to another visual Clown yields 100% visual Clowns. It combines exceptionally well with other morphs.

Is the head wobble associated with the Clown gene?

No. The Clown gene is a recessive color and pattern mutation. It is not linked to any neurological conditions like the “wobble” sometimes seen in the Spider complex. This animal displays typical, coordinated Ball Python movement.
