No. This is a direct, cosmetic replacement for the factory slide cover plate. It does not interact with any firing or safety mechanisms. Our shop demo Glock, fitted with this plate, functions flawlessly.
Will the anodized finish wear off?
The hardcoat anodizing is highly durable and resistant to abrasion and solvents. It is designed for long-term wear, though, like any finish, it may show holster wear over extensive use.
Is this compatible with my optic cut slide?
This plate is designed as a replacement for the standard rear slide cover plate on non-optics-ready slides. It is not compatible with slides that have been milled for an optic or that use a separate optics mounting plate system.
