Description

The Lemonblast Spider Ball Python is a designer morph combining the bright Lemonblast pattern with the distinctive Spider wobble. It’s for intermediate to advanced keepers who appreciate complex genetics and striking visual contrast. Since we added it in spring 2025, it has become a consistent reorder due to its popularity.

Stand-Out Features

  • Complex Genetics: A double co-dominant morph (Pastel x Pinstripe) combined with the Spider gene for a unique, high-contrast pattern.
  • Distinctive Pattern: Features the bright yellow blushing and reduced pattern of the Lemonblast, overlaid with the Spider gene’s thin, web-like dorsal markings.
  • Known Spider Gene: This morph carries the characteristic neurological trait (“wobble”) associated with the Spider gene. It does not affect feeding response or overall health in most specimens.
  • Proven Feeder: All our specimens are established on frozen/thawed rodents prior to sale.
  • Improved Build: Our staff notes that compared to earlier stock, the fit and finish on current specimens are noticeably tighter.

Your Questions Answered

What is the “wobble” in Spider ball pythons?

The “wobble” is a neurological condition linked to the Spider gene. It can cause a slight to moderate head tremor, corkscrewing, or difficulty with orientation. Severity varies by individual. It is a lifelong trait but does not typically impact the snake’s ability to feed, breed, or thrive. It is essential to understand this before purchase.

How does the Lemonblast influence the Spider pattern?

The Lemonblast (Pastel Pinstripe) base brightens the overall coloration, adding strong yellow tones and reducing the normal pattern. This creates a higher contrast canvas, making the Spider’s thin, web-like dorsal pattern stand out more dramatically than on a normal Spider.

What setup do you recommend for a juvenile?

A 10-20 gallon enclosure with a secure lid is suitable. Provide a humid hide (70-80% humidity), a dry hide, a water bowl, and a UTH (Under Tank Heater) on a thermostat set to 88-92°F on the warm side. Ambient temperature should be 78-80°F. Use aspen or coconut husk substrate.
