Stand-Out Features
Let’s talk about what makes this dragon special. The “Lemon Sherbet” label isn’t just marketing fluff. In our hands, we see a consistently bright, clean yellow base color that really pops, especially under good lighting. The Hypo trait reduces the typical black markings, giving it that smoother, cleaner look, while the Witblits genetics further wash out pattern, resulting in an animal that’s often nearly patternless. The build quality on these, based on the breeder we source from, has been excellent. We keep 20+ in stock at all times because backorders kill us on this one – when they’re gone, they’re often gone for a while. The temperament we’ve observed in our holding enclosures is typically very calm and handleable, which aligns with what our customers report.

Strengths and Weaknesses
✅ Pros:
- Stunning, Consistent Color: The lemon yellow is vibrant and the Hypo/Witblits combo gives a very clean appearance. This isn’t a washed-out yellow.
- Excellent Disposition: In our testing while acclimating new arrivals, these have been among the calmest and easiest to handle of the fancy morphs we stock.
- Strong Breeder Lines: The animals we receive are robust, feed aggressively, and show no signs of genetic weakness. The build quality matches the price.
- Great “Show” Pet: It delivers a lot of visual impact for the price, more so than a standard citrus in our opinion. It’s one of our better-reviewed products in the bearded dragon category.
- Good Long-Term Value: As a proven double morph, it holds its value better than a normal or single-trait animal if you ever need to rehome.
❌ Cons:
- Premium Price: You are paying for specific genetics and color. It’s a significant step up from a pet store dragon.
- Juvenile Color Can Develop: Like all dragons, the final adult color can intensify or change slightly. The bright yellow base is reliable, but the exact shade may mature.
- Requires Standard Specialized Care: This is not a critique of the animal itself, but a reminder. All bearded dragons need proper UVB, heat, and diet, regardless of their color.
Best For
Buy if: You’re an intermediate keeper or a committed beginner who wants a bearded dragon that stands out for its beautiful, bright color and clean look. You understand the investment for quality genetics and are prepared for standard beardie care. You want a pet that’s likely to be handleable and engaging.
Skip if: You are an absolute first-time reptile owner on a tight budget (start with a standard). You are solely a breeder looking for the newest, rarest, most expensive project morph. You are unwilling to provide the necessary enclosure setup (UVB, heat gradient, proper diet) which costs more than the animal itself.
Your Questions Answered
How yellow will it stay as an adult?
The Lemon Sherbet lineage is known for retaining its yellow intensity into adulthood. The Hypo gene helps keep it clean. While all dragons’ colors can deepen or shift slightly with maturity, you can expect a vibrant yellow adult, not a dull brown or tan animal.
Is the Witblits gene the same as Zero?
No, they are different genetic lines that produce a similar patternless appearance. Witblits is its own mutation. This animal carries Witblits, not Zero. Both are great for a clean look, but they are genetically distinct.
How is the health and feeding response?
Based on the 36 buyer reviews we have (averaging 4.7/5) and our own observations in-house, these animals arrive healthy and are typically strong, eager feeders on both insects and salads. The breeder we source from has a great reputation for robust stock.
Is this a good dragon for handling?
In our experience acclimating them, yes. The temperament has been consistently calm. Of course, individual personality varies, but proper, gentle handling from a young age will result in a very tame pet.
What size enclosure do I need?
A 120-gallon (4’x2’x2′) enclosure is the recommended minimum for an adult bearded dragon. You can start a juvenile in something smaller (like a 40-gallon breeder) but should plan for the upgrade within 6-10 months.
Where can I buy Lemon Sherbet Hypo Witblits online?
You’re looking at one of the primary sources. Morphdirect stocks this specific morph regularly. We ship nationwide from our Boise facility with live arrival assurance. We’ve found it’s a customer favorite, which is why we maintain such a large standing inventory.
Do you guarantee the sex?
At the juvenile size we ship, visual sexing is not 100% reliable. We sell them as unsexed. For a fee, our staff can provide a “best guess” based on femoral pores and other markers, but we cannot guarantee it. For guaranteed sex, you would need to purchase an older, sub-adult animal.
