Description
The Hypo Het. Anery Boa is a foundational morph for breeders aiming to produce clean, high-contrast Anerythristic offspring. This animal carries the recessive Anery gene and expresses the co-dominant Hypomelanism trait, resulting in reduced black pigment and enhanced clarity. Since we added it to our collection in late 2025, it has consistently been a top performer in our boa constrictor lineup. It’s an excellent choice for the intermediate to advanced keeper focused on predictable, quality genetics.

Your Questions Answered
What can I produce by breeding this animal?
Breeding this Hypo Het. Anery to a visual Anery will yield 50% Hypo Het. Anery and 50% Anery offspring. Breeding it to another Hypo Het. Anery can produce Normals, Hypos, Aneries, and Hypo Aneries, making it a versatile foundation animal.
How does the Hypo gene affect the appearance?
The Hypomelanistic gene reduces black and brown pigmentation (melanin). This results in a cleaner, often lighter background color, reduced pattern speckling, and richer, more defined saddle colors compared to a normal wild-type boa.
Is this a good snake for a first-time owner?
While Boa imperator are generally hardy, this is a juvenile animal with specific genetic value. We recommend it for keepers with prior experience in snake husbandry, particularly those interested in the breeding potential of its genetics.
