No. The Green Tree Monitor is an advanced species. Success requires prior experience with maintaining high humidity, precise temperatures, and arboreal enclosures. Start with a more terrestrial, hardy species.
How handleable are they?
Typically, not very. They are observant and can become accustomed to presence, but they are generally skittish and stress easily with handling. They are best considered “hands-off” display animals.
What size enclosure is needed?
Think tall, not long. A minimum of 4 feet tall, 2 feet wide, and 2-4 feet deep is the starting point for an adult. More space is always better, especially in height for climbing.
What do they eat?
