This individual has shown a calm and tractable disposition during our handling. As with all reptiles, gentle and consistent interaction is key to maintaining a docile pet. Allow a proper acclimation period in its new enclosure before regular handling.
Will the color change as it grows?
The tangerine coloration will become more solid and intense with each shed. The “Extreme” designation indicates a high potential for very little pattern (banding) to remain in adulthood, resulting in a largely orange animal.
What setup do you recommend?
A 20-gallon long enclosure is the minimum for an adult. Provide a heat gradient with an under-tank heater on one side, a humid hide for shedding, and a variety of secure hides. Maintain a temperature gradient of 88-92°F on the warm end and around 75°F on the cool end.
