Description
The Blue Bar Hypo Bearded Dragon Baby is a selectively bred reptile for the intermediate to advanced keeper seeking vibrant color and proven genetics. This morph combines the reduced-pigment Hypo trait with striking blue lateral barring, resulting in a cleaner, brighter animal with excellent contrast. Since we added it to our inventory in January 2026, it has consistently been one of our top-selling dragon morphs.

Your Questions Answered
How blue will this dragon stay as it grows?
The blue barring is a juvenile and sub-adult trait. While the intensity may shift slightly with maturity, the high-contrast pattern and cleaner background from the Hypo gene remain, often resulting in a very bright, attractive adult. Proper UVB lighting and diet support color development.
Is the Hypo trait visual or het?
This animal is a visual Hypomelanistic (Hypo). You can confirm this by checking for clear nails, which is a primary visual indicator of the Hypo gene in bearded dragons.
What setup do you recommend for a baby?
A 40-gallon breeder tank is the minimum starting size. Provide a basking zone of 105-110°F, a cool side around 80°F, and a high-quality 10.0 or 12% UVB tube light spanning 2/3 of the enclosure. Use a non-particulate substrate like slate tile or reptile carpet for babies.
