What does “Het Pied” mean for breeding?
“Het” means heterozygous. This snake carries one copy of the recessive Piebald gene. To produce visual Pied offspring (showing the white patches), it must be bred to another visual Pied or another 100% Het Pied. Breeding two Het Pieds gives you a statistical chance of producing visuals.
How is the Blackhead gene expressed in this animal?
The Blackhead gene modifies pattern and color. You’ll see a significantly reduced, darker head stamp compared to a normal Ball Python, along with cleaner, higher-contrast body patterning. This adds aesthetic value on top of the Pied genetics.
